Tour Description :

Duration: Day 1 Departs 7.30 am Day 3 Terminates 8.00 pm approx

Visit Waitangi, the starting point of New Zealand’s future as part of the British Empire. A historical place where Maori and European settlers came together to sign the “Treaty of Waitangi”. Later return to Paihia at your accommodation. Enjoy delicious meals by visiting one of the many restaurants at Paihia during your stay. Take a trip to the top of the North Island on day two.

Visit Cape Reinga via ninety mile beach and return via the coastal settlements of Manganui and Kerikeri.

Day three cruise via the Bay of Islands out to the well-known Hole In the Rock on Piercy Island. The hole is large enough for the boat to sail through. This region is also rich in marine life, with Dolphins being the celebrity of the area.

Places of Interest:

Day One – Auckland / Paihia

Head over the HARBOUR BRIDGE via Auckland’s northern suburbs. Then your journey takes you along the HIBISCUS COAST which is a popular holiday and retirement resort with beautiful beaches. Later you pass through WHANGAREI – northland’s only city and largest port (note – coach does not stop here). Then you will visit the WAITANGI TREATY HOUSE – Site of the historic treaty between the Maori and European pioneers. View a magnificent Maori meeting house and large war canoe.

On returning to PAIHIA you will get time to explore the busier side of the bay with its shops and arcades. You may even see a big game fish being weighed in at the wharf. Later in the evening you can relax in your reserved accommodation.

There is an in-house restaurant or you can try one of many restaurants in the village (meals at your own cost).

Day Two – Cape Reinga Day Tour

Join a full day tour to the topmost tip of the North Island. Your journey will take you through the Puketi Kauri Forest and Gumdiggers Park (Early European Settlement) where you will be able to witness the spellbinding huge native Kauri trees, many that are hundreds of years old.

Later, your journey continues through the magnificent Ninety Mile Beach and then the Te Paki Stream where you can climb on the huge Sand Dunes of this dessert-like area. Eventually you reach Cape Reinga the northernmost tip of New Zealand and the meeting point of the Pacific Ocean & the Tasman Sea. A boxed Lunch will be served here.

Start your return journey to Pahia and arrive at your hotel at approx 06:30pm.

Day Three – Cape Brett Cruise / Auckland

Join the cruise in the sheltered waters of the Bay of Islands to approach the CAPE BRETT and pass through the famous Hole In the Rock, the highlight of your tour (subject to sea conditions).

Later you have time to explore the delightful URUPUKAPUKA ISLAND. Spend the afternoon on the beach at Paihia, go shopping, sightseeing or laze at your hotel.

Join your return coach journey to Auckland from Paihia. Arrive Auckland by evening. Pick up will be from the Maritime Building in the afternoon.
